My Very Own Quest Brownies

Happy Friday Eve!

Yep that's right, I'm tucked up in bed writing a blog post instead of out getting drunk. Parallel universe? I don't know what's happened to me...actually I do, Christmas (& Nish) shopping has left me one broke girl.

I stumbled upon Quest bars a few months ago on various fitness blogs or instagrams. They caught my eye as the words healthy and brownie are only ever used together in my dreams! So of course I browsed the website it was helloooo 3 boxes of Quest bars, bye bye £70!

I actually ordered off the official Quest site which charged a ridiculous delivery fee as the brand is American, but I've been told you can get them off many UK sites, including Amazon and predatornutrition.com

Anyways, I have one thing to say and it's all you need to know:

Quest is the best!

If you're a chocoholic like me...or have a sweet tooth, but are also trying to be healthy, these are the perfect little treats. Besides the amazing range of flavours (chocolate brownie, chocolate chip cookie dough, cinnamon roll, chocolate peanut butter, strawberry cheesecake, coconut cashew, the list goes on...), these badboys are gluten free, free from aritifical sweeteners, low in saturated fat and sugar, very low carb AND high protein. Too good to be true?

Oh, and they taste delicious!!

The only downside is they are pricey little buggers. A box of twelve is a hefty £24.99 so that's around £2.00 per bar...and if you buy them individually they're even more expensive!

This morning I had a little flick through the recipe book they came with and decided to make my own version of their 'chocolate brownie' recipe. Instead of peanut butter cups (which I didn't order), I used banana.

Ingredients: Nice & Simple

1 Chocolate Brownie Quest Bar
1 Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough Quest Bar
1/2 Ripe Banana

Chop each bar into 5 even slices and microwave on high for 10 seconds...

Spray 5 little muffin trays with non-stick spray...

Mash one chocolate brownie strip onto the bottom of each muffin tray...

Place a few slices of banana on top...

And then mash the cookie dough strips on top...

Bake for 10 minutes in the oven and voila!

SoBloodyTasty.
Honestly, if I blindfolded you and gave you one of these next to a normal, unhealthy but incredibly yummy double chocolate brownie, I bet you wouldn't taste the difference. They're that good. And only 80 cals per one!

'Healthy' brownies + green tea + fire= one happy Nish.

The perfect post-workout treat!

If I'm uncontactable in the next 48 hours, it's because I'm in a quest coma.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

On Friday evening I fell in love...with Winter Wonderland!

I hadn't seen one of my besties Shane in almost 8 months...and considering we both live in London that is a ridiculously long time! But oh how time flies.

We met at Wahaca... mmm Mexican goodness...

...before heading to Marble Arch to lose my Winter Wonderland virginity!
(How have I never been before? I'm such a shit Londoner).

We met Santa Claus...he looked less happy than I'd imagined.

Grumpy Santa!

Just chillin' with some mulled wine...my fave

Shane- "Opium...?! Isn't that a drug?!"
I then attempted to teach him the history of opium/the Opium Wars/China. We didn't get very far...

I fell in love with pretty much every food stall. Standard.

Selfie Central

... because an evening with Shane just wouldn't feel right without a few (hundred) selfies.

Shane tried to get me to go on this badboy...he must be crazy.

Being launched up and down an immensely tall thing at top speed is not my idea of fun. Ever since I heard of a girl dying on a roller coaster at Thorpe Park, I was put off rides fo life! (Well, at least that's my excuse. In all truth, i just can't stand the butterflies fluttering around in my tummy!)

I reluctantly agreed to go on this ride which speeds around in a circle...and coming from the girl that threw up on the teacups, I feel pretty proud!

This was our experience:

I have to say that despite being squashed by Shane for the majority of the ride as it flung us around, the dizziness, and the smoke which choked us, it was actually a lot of fun!

Another selfie? Why not.

Rudolph looked a bit crazy. Rudolph and I would be real good friends.

Who doesn't love a good sausage...

Say cheeese...

We had such a lovely, cute and festive evening and it's made me so excited for Christmas!!

I will definitely be going back at least 5 times before it closes in Jan.

I want to try the ice rink...even if I do usually spend the majority of my time on the floor/gripping the railings. Literally Bambi on ice!

Happpy December :)
