Autumn Metallic Nails

Happy Autumn peeps!

I say 'happy' because Autumn is definitely my favourite season: it becomes acceptable to drink endless amounts of hot chocolate, wine is warmed and prepared with love, scented candles fill the house and there's always something incredibly inviting about spending cosy nights in by the fire whilst the rain trickles down the windows (a boy to make/share all of the above with would be ideal, but ya can't have it all!)

I love the transition from Autumn to Winter, when the sun (or lack of if you live in England like me) is tiring and the crisp, cold mornings have a certain appeal about them.

Autumn means we're one step closer to winter baby (sung in the tune of 'one step closer' by S Club Juniors...who remembers that song?!) ...and one step closer to winter means one step closer to Christmas! There I said it, and no, it's not too early. Let's not pretend I'm the only one who's been rocking their Christmas PJ bottoms from last year (my particular red and white snowflake patterned pair from Primark might just be the comfiest thing since The White Company's duvet range).

Autumn also means that I get to change up my makeup and wardrobe, which excites me greatly. After a recommendation from one of my fave YouTubers/bloggers Anna (Vivianna Does Makeup...watch her, she's hilarious and awesome), I knew I had to purchase Ciate's Haute House Collection, a selection of five miniature metallic nail varnishes which, when combined, are Autumn in a bottle.

The packaging is a plus as they arrived in this little house, each shimmering nail varnish behind a gold-framed window. A perfect adornment to give my room an autumnal feel.

...where would a girl be without the Sally Hansen Base & Top coat?!

The colours from left to right:

Knee Highs - a deep dark purple
For The Frill Of It - a shimmery gold
Sass Pot - a rich electric blue
Can Can - a metallic forest green
Tickle My Fancy- a gorgeous berry

I am currently wearing them all at once, for two reasons:

1) So I can see which ones are ma faves without having repaint them five times...
2) Because I'm well edgy like.

(please ignore the old woman hands...23 and wrinkly...is finger botox a thing?!)

...I think my faves have to be 'knee highs' and 'can can'.

I love love love the metallic finish. They also dry super quick so if you're as impatient as me when it comes to painting your nails, or are always forgetting that everything and anything becomes your freshly painted nails' worst nightmare and touch something to smudge the carefully constructed buggers, then these are for you!

Oh, and they only require one coat! Need I say anything else?

New Video: My Spring Makeup Essentials!

Hi guys!

Recently I've been really inspired by beauty bloggers and YouTubers, and after trying and testing some recommended products, as well as ones I've found myself, I decided to film a video to talk through my Spring beauty favourites/ essentials!

So here it is:

Sorry if I offended anyone who wears matte foundations - I've been wearing them pretty much all my life so I didn't mean to say you look like a corpse in them! Just that after discovering lighter, dewyer foundations, I much prefer these to the mattes!

Also, the lighting is a bit too bright in some parts so you can't see the products properly, but here are some close-up photos!

Products featured
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Real Technique's Miracle Complexion Sponge
Naked 3 Palette
Maybelline Falsies Mascara
Benefit Blush - Rockateur
Bourjois Blush - Rose De Jaspe
Benefit Highlighter - Sun Beam
Mac Lipstick - Ravishing
Maybelline Colour Sensational High Shine Gloss - Cashmere Rose
Tanya Burr LipGloss - Chic
Topshop Nail Varnish - Ethereal
Topshop Nail Varnish - Buff
Model's Own Nail Varnish - Bikini

Enjoy!

XOXO

Best & Worst Dressed At The Oscars

So today isn't quite as depressing, dull and dreadworthy as Mondays generally are. As many of us awake with the expected 'Two Day Hangover' from the weekend,  and the impending work load which is sure to greet us as we face yet another whole week, we also opened our eyes to the morning after the most notorious film/entertainment awards ceremony in the world, The Oscars.

Of course, the first thing I wanted to see was the series of outfits which actors/actresses chose to wear for the evening. Get it right, and you're deemed the next 'fashion icon' almost immediately. Get it wrong, and you may as well just hang your career out to dry there and then. Well not quite. But you get the picture.

I have made a list of my personal Faves...and Least Faves.

Best Dressed

Cate Blanchett

Looked beautiful in this chic nude Armani number! It reminds me of a classy, covered up version of Britney's infamous sheer diamond bodysuit worn in her video 'Toxic'. Pure, innocent, demure, yet absolutely fabulous at the same time.

 Lupita Nyong'o

The 'Best supporting Actress' wasn't the only thing she picked up yesterday evening...she also gained  style points in this gorgeous blue Prada dress which compliments her skin tone wonderfully.

Emma Watson

Looked stunning in this dazzling Vera Wang beaut. You can't go wrong with a simple black gown, but the metallic gives Emma's the "wow factor". The bold red lipstick completes the look. And who doesn't love a good bum flash?

Olivia Wilde

Worked the monochrome trend in this stylish Maison Valentino open back maxi dress. It hugs in all the right places. Anyone who manages to look this glowing while pregnant is winning in my eyes.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Now I understand how she bagged the second most beautiful man on earth (after One Direction's Niall of course). She stunned in this sparkling Reema Acra gown with feathered bottom. Oh, and did I mention that she only gave birth less than a year ago? Kudos.

Worst Dressed

Kristen Bell

Less red carpet, more 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding'. Just no.

Margot Robbie

WHAT HAS SHE DONE TO HER HAIR?!?! Not a fan. Margot was almost unrecognisable. It seems the former blonde bombshell got a bit confused...it was the Oscars, not the Twilight Premiere!

Charlize Theron

I'm eating my own words...it seems like there is such thing as a black gown gone wrong. It's not so much the gown itself, more the giant "see-through" straps grasping each shoulder. Christian Dior, what were you thinking?

Pharrell

Pharrell was seen rocking a "short suit"...?! Baffled. I'm unsure whether to love it purely because it's Pharrell, or loathe it because those chicken drumsticks of his are best kept covered up.

Until next time!

My First Fashion Haul!

Hey hey people! Happy Tuesday!

We are officially one day closer to hump day, woop woop!

I haven't posted in a while, the reason being because there hasn't really been anything tremendously exciting/ blogworthy (that and I've just been pretty lazy). The last few weekends I've taken a few trips to Oxford Street and rather than do a blog post on all my purchases which would probably take a good few years...I thought I'd try out a fashion haul!

Not gonna lie, it was harder than I thought. I felt like one crazy woman just talking at a camera...but once you get into it it's not so bad!

I still find it embarrassing to watch though- can't stand the sound of my own voice, especially after my lovely sister pointed out that I "sound like Lucy Watson" in parts. As much as I love her, sounding like her is in no way a good thing...

I apologise for the following:

1) The length
2) Speaking so ridiculously fast
3) The creased clothes
3) The lack of prices on quite a few items

But hey...trial and error!

I also forgot to mention these beauuuuts from Primark that I purchased:

They were either £12 or £14 and are basically a replica of these Zara ones-

So that's nearly £70 to be saved...or spent on other pretty things :)
There is just one problem- the Primark versions come with guarenteed blisters.
The solution- get drunk enough so that you lose all sense of pain (this is what I did of course).

Hope you enjoy the haul!

xoxo
